Our approach
What supports you in daily life, and what calls for a larger change? Those two questions underpin The Frequency of Happiness.
Daily possibilities
Music, food, movement, breathing, light and connection can influence how you feel. The course helps you explore what suits you and your circumstances. An exercise can be useful without being a cure-all.
Personal agency and support
You can change some things yourself. Others require help, better circumstances or time. Wellbeing does not depend solely on the right thoughts or enough willpower. We also consider relationships, boundaries and what matters to you.
Research and philosophy
We discuss psychological research alongside philosophical ideas. They do not have the same status. The labels Researched, Provisional and Philosophy make this visible. We also describe the limits of research; a small study does not guarantee an outcome for every reader.
Stoicism, Buddhism and modern writers can offer worthwhile questions. That does not require treating all their claims as facts.
Making your own choices
A lesson includes explanation, an example and an exercise or writing prompt. You observe what happens when you try something. You can adjust, pause and seek support. A hard day does not prove you have practised incorrectly.
